About AGPD: The Arroyo Grande Police Department employs 29 dedicated full-time staff with a fiscal year 2018-2019 budget of 6.8 million dollars. Additionally, the Department maintains seven part-time employees including two Reserve Police Officers, two Neighborhood Services Technicians, one Training/Permit Technician, two Police Cadets and ten Police Volunteers.

The Department enjoys an excellent reputation within both the community and County, embraces community policing principles, and maintains strong customer service standards while ensuring quality of life throughout our area. The organizational structure consists of two primary divisions: Patrol Services and Support Services, each led by a Commander.

The crime rate in this area ranks among California's lowest. The Department responded to 17,137 recorded incidents in 2016 and 17,925 incidents in 2017, while maintaining emergency response times under two minutes.
