Best Well Water Test Kit (Improved for 2026)

The SoftPro Well Water Test Kit checks the numbers that decide which treatment your well needs: hardness, iron, pH and total dissolved solids (TDS). Those results tell you whether you need a water softener, an iron filter, a pH neutralizer or a combination, and how to size each one.

Use it to:

• Size a well water softener by measured hardness (grains per gallon) plus iron
• Decide whether you need an iron filter ahead of the softener
• Spot acidic water (low pH) that calls for a neutralizer
• Re-check your water once a year, or whenever taste, color or smell changes

What it doesn't replace: bacteria (total coliform), nitrate and other health-related contaminants should be tested by a state-certified laboratory, as the EPA recommends for private wells.

Send us your results and we'll recommend the right system, free. Or enter them in the Free Local Water Analysis Report.
