Whether you're seeking experience in your field of study or exploring potential career paths, the Bright Futures program offers diverse employment opportunities. Previous fairs included representatives from fields such as:

What to expect from the job fair:
Dress professionally and bring multiple copies of your resume. During the Bright Future job fair, you'll hear from various City departments about summer job opportunities. You'll have the chance to apply and leave your resume with departments of interest. No hiring occurs at the job fair itself. All candidates offered a position must pass a background check. Internships run from June 3rd through July 26th.
How are candidates selected for employment?
Applicants selected must attend the Bright Future Employment Fair. Selection is based on qualifications and how well applications match employer needs. The program aims to create the best possible match between applicants and employers.
What if I'm not selected?
For those not chosen, we provide alternative resources. Applicants who attend the fair but aren't selected will be referred to the Full Employment Council for information about additional opportunities and services.
What's the pay rate and how many positions are available?
Minimum summer employee wage: $7.65 per hour. Positions and hours vary by organization. City of Kansas City, Mo. interns work 20-40 hours per week.
