The strategic mission of the Rio Linda/Elverta Community Water District is to provide responsive service to District customers with water that is safe, potable and meets all state and federal standards, while ensuring both current and future community needs are met.
District Goals:
- Supply water to current and future customers sustainably while maintaining financial stability
- Develop a comprehensive distribution system serving the entire District with adequate sizing and circulation
- Maintain existing wells and storage facilities to waterworks standards while expanding infrastructure to meet peak demand and emergency requirements

No, the "grace period" allowing Extended Sick Leave use instead of PTO for routine illnesses ended in the last pay period of September. PTO now applies to all absences including illness, childcare, medical appointments, personal time, and holidays.

No, there's a 7-calendar day waiting period during which accumulated PTO must be used first before transitioning to Extended Sick Leave.

How do I earn Extended Sick Leave?
Unlike PTO, it isn't accrued each pay period. Employees with unused PTO exceeding policy limits will have those excess hours converted to Extended Sick Leave in the first full pay period of January annually.

Does Extended Sick Leave count toward retirement?
Yes, your Extended Sick Leave balance is considered "unused accumulated sick leave" at retirement and provides retirement credit for calculating monthly benefits from TCRS.

Is Extended Sick Leave paid out upon termination?
No, Extended Sick Leave is not paid out when employment ends.
Note: "Immediate family member" for Extended Sick Leave purposes follows the FMLA definition, including spouse, parent, and child.
