Texas A&M University Main Campus Water Report Information

Texarkana Water Utilities operates as a joint division of Texarkana, Arkansas and Texarkana, Texas municipalities, primarily focused on providing water and sewer services to both cities and surrounding areas. Our primary mission is delivering safe, potable, continuous water supplies at adequate pressure to all communities we serve.

The Utility draws its water from two surface reservoirs: Wright Patman in Bowie County, Texas and Millwood in Little River County, Arkansas. We supply potable water to all customers while maintaining fire flow capacity for both Texarkanas.

Our responsibilities also include wastewater pumping and treatment, along with environmentally responsible biosolid disposal that meets all regulatory requirements. We accept greenwaste at no charge from residents of both cities, which we compost with biosolids to create an environmentally beneficial soil conditioner meeting all state quality standards for lawns, gardens and highway beautification.

Additionally, the Utility manages a federally mandated Industrial Pretreatment Program under the Engineering/Environmental Services Division, monitors grease trap compliance, and oversees state-mandated backflow prevention programs. Texarkana Water Utilities provides billing services and computer networking support to both cities, while also offering compost sales, green waste disposal, residential motor oil collection, and bacteriological water testing to local residents and nearby municipalities.
